Very fast MV Agusta this morning in free practice 2.I called Team.They said that this afternoon think could be better!!!!

5150 Racing / Team moto-heaven.com’s Justin Marm and Phil Caudill took 1st place in Heavyweight Supersport and 2nd Overall during the first round of the WERA / AMA National Endurance Series at Roebling Road Raceway this past weekend aboard the Fast by Ferracci prepared 2007 MV Agusta F4 1000R. This event was the first time an MV Agusta has competed in the series and was the first national win for the brand. The race was a complete 4-hours without interruption and the bike performed flawlessly for 185 laps. The superior handling of the MV, along with consistent fast laps and smooth pit stops made for a winning combination.
“The bike just goes where you want it to, no matter what your lean angle is. You can change your line mid-corner, get back on the gas, and it does not give any negative feedback. It takes less effort to go faster than any other brand we have raced,” said Caudill.
The team chose not to practice on Friday, as they needed the time to prepare the machine for Saturday’s race. This turned out to be a misjudgment as the heavier fork springs used in previous tests were swapped with lighter ones. The bike handled differently, but thanks to a lengthy practice session, the team was able to make the correct adjustments. The set-up was virtually out-of-the box with the exception of the Thermosman Ohlins rear shock and reworked OEM 58mm forks. The only adjustment needed was to the preload during practice. The MV’s aftermarket quick shifter also experienced some intermittent problems in practice so the riders decided to race without it, requiring them to re-learn shifting with a clutch in the first few laps. The team completed the race on a single front Dunlop DOT and changed the rear Dunlop DOT just once on lap 77, at the beginning of Marm’s second stint. The team attributes the minimal tire wear to the superb design of the MV.
Marm explains, “I was doing lap times during the final hour that were the same as in the first hour, and the front was still planted. I had complete confidence to maintain that pace, but my crew signaled me to slow down and play it safe since we had a two-lap lead on 2nd place. I was having so much fun that I wanted to keep racing as I came through the checkered flag. The F4 1000R is an absolute dream to race, the handling and power delivery is so much better than anything I have ever ridden. Those Italians have just plain got it right!”

We are just back from Valencia after testing the MV Agusta F4 1000cc prepared by GIMotosports.
The weekend started with us nearly missing our flight and having to run to catch the plane -- not very professional! We arrived at Valencia midday on Saturday, quickly checked into our hotel and then went straight to the circuit to meet the GIMotosport Team. They were there testing with Pirelli, and as well as their Superstock bikes, they were testing the newly prepared MV Superbike with Ayrton Badovini aboard.
We spent the afternoon chatting with the team and getting to know a little more about the bike and its set up, ready for Vic's test on Sunday.
Two of the MV Factory technicians were there helping with the setup of the superbike, and test riding two brand new 07 machines -- one of them was unceremoniously dropped into the kitty litter by one of the GIMotorsport riders (oops).
One of the technicians was the works development test rider, and he explained the improvements that had been made to the new model, which include reworked cylinder head and revised engine mapping.
Saturday evening we met up with Nino and his wife Sue from NGRoadracing, They had made a stop off in Valencia to see Victor's test before going on to holiday with friends. It was good to see them and we all had a great evening.
On Sunday we had breakfast and headed off to the circuit, arriving there about 9 o'clock. It was a lovely blue cloudless sky but very chilly, and it was decided to wait for the sun to warm the track up a bit before Vic's first test session.
Vic had not ridden at Valencia since 2005, when he rode to 16th place in the European Superstocks aboard a Beowulf Suzuki K5. We suggested that Vic use the first session to familiarise himself with the bike and track. But we weren't too disappointed when Vic started backing the MV in on his second lap and he finished his first session just off his 2005 qualifying time and a couple of seconds off the GIMotorsport rider's times. Impressive stuff!
Vic's second session was at about 3 o'clock and by this time the track had warmed up nicely. Vic was awsked to do a couple of easy laps to bed in a new pair of pads and then come in to check everything was ok. This was done and Vic was then told by their team mechanic to give it some "gas". Vic didn't need to be told twice and before too long all the GIMotosport Team were on the pit wall watching Vic and one of their own riders dicing for position with Vic the eventual victor, but not before a few exciting backing in manoeuvres from Vic had us and the Team shaking our heads in disbelief.

Hereford, March 12th 2007 -- Team STP Racing is delighted to confirm that it has now taken delivery of its new Superstock MV Agusta F4 312R which Victor Cox will race in 2007 in the BSB Superstock Championship.
The delivery of the new MV Agusta followed a test ride at Valencia in January and an extensive familiarisation and set up session at Monza last week.
Team principal Jon Strike commented 'The MV Agusta is a stunning bike with enormous potential to do well in the Superstock championship this year. Our technical partners are GI Motorsports based in Milan (Italy). They also prepared the bikes that Ayrton Badovini took to several wins in the European Championship in 2006 and they will be helping us this season.'
An excited Victor Cox added 'We haven't seen much from MV Agusta in the UK for as long as I can remember which is a shame because British riders and MV Agusta have a fantastic heritage. With this bike I think I can do well in Superstock this year and help to raise the profile of MV Agusta and STP Racing.'

We are just back from Cartagena where Martin's TT Superstock campaign got off to a great start, attached are pictures of the various machines from the MV Factory which sent 3 testers and 3 engineers to run a superbike , a copy of the machine being raced by Luca Scassa in the USA. A prototype of the F4 containing upgrade parts on test, as well as road machine to be put through thier paces. Marting was extreamly happy with his bike and encouraged when riding the development machine. His own bike showed tremendous speed and good stability as well as being very manoverable. He certainly was able to show both the Ducatis' and Suzukis' a clean pair of heals on the straights and when he gets his own suspension in place he is very confident. He had one slight misshap sliping of on a slow corner Unfortunatly the incident was made worse by his boot which was under the bike colapsing and the sole plate, designed to stop crushing injuries, split and cut his foot badly requiring several stitches. He returned to the track to continue testing. His first comment was "It has tremendous straight line speed and a great powercurve It should be an ideal bike for the roads" The factory were well pleased with his performance, the proffesional nature of the team and its spirit. We hope that this will be the start of a long and fruitfull relationship with M V Agusta.

We have arrived at Cartagena in southern Spain to begin 4 days of familiarisation testing. Martin Finnegan's TT assault begins here.
First job is to take off all the beautifull road fairings and bits and pieces and fit the lighter but not so pretty racing parts. G I Morsport team has been kind enough to lend us an exhaust system as Arrow are out of stock so on thursday Martin took to the track in +25 deg temperatures compared with -back home. The factory technichians are with us with a development F 1000 and a Brutale which is holding its own with the superstock machines. We have put in our Road racing forks modified by K tech in the UK but everything else is as from the factory. Times have got better and better and Martin is very pleased with the Bike even at this early stage it is easy to see its potential. We have discovered that the fuel mix is a little on the lean side but we understand this willbe rectified shortly so inotherwords the power will get even better at present the F 4 is blasting past the R 1's and new Ducatis of the UK Supersport teams. We are using a Metzler tyre which is a control tyre for the BSB and playing with pressures. It has to be said this track and temperature is not what we would expect in the UK inspite of Global Warming so the tyre is overheating day 1 & 2 have been exciting
One of the other machines here is the beautiful factory duplicate of Luca's Superbike and the factory mechanics are liasing with the USA incase of any problems.
The other MV test riders with us are Badovini, Ayrton, Billoti and Latini The latter is a very Impresive rider and I understand has been the factory tester for over 20 years. To see him ride a development F 4 is to understand complete confidence between man and machine.
As well as being the MV coordinator for Martin Finnegan I am the organiser of this test for about 85 BSB riders I was asked to have a word with the MV team rider who was pulling wheelies in the straights on the Brutale and upsetting other riders so I took a concreat block to put on his handle bars and swore at him in best Italian, but the team boss had allready sorted it.
Day 3 was interupted by a slip off on some oil and Martin has had to rest for the rest of Saturday but will be out again on Sunday. The enthusiasme and passion of all the staff is great to see and our swedish mechanic Le Roy has allready established a great rapore with them all. Even if no one can pronounce his name properly -Le Roy
