THE BRUTALE 1078RR IS “BIKE OF THE YEAR 2008"
Another extraordinary success for MV Agusta. In the striking atmosphere of the Rocchetta courtyard in the Sforzesco Castle in Milan, over 500 guests attended the “Bike of the Year 2008” ceremony hosted by Motociclismo (a magazine with over 90 years of history) where the MV Agusta Brutale 1078RR claimed the overall title of "Bike of the Year".

Along with the overall victory, the Brutale also won Best Bike in the naked category for the eighth year in a row, confirming its everlasting desirability. In this category the Brutale 1078RR beat some of the toughest competition on the market by obtaining 17% of the votes compared to 7% of the closest rival, the Ducati Monster 696, and 4% of the third-placed motorcycle, the BMW R1200R. The successful evening for the MV Agusta group was completed by the second place obtained by the Cagiva Mito SP525 in the 125 category.

During the prize ceremony at the tenth edition of Motociclismo’s Bike of the Year contest, President Claudio Castiglioni declared: “This is another important goal obtained by MV Agusta and a significant achievement that strengthens our image as manufacturers of beautiful motorcycles that are exclusive and technologically advanced. It’s a great satisfaction to see that motorcyclists appreciate the passion with which Italian manufacturers develop and design motorcycles that differentiate themselves internationally."

Moto GP World Champ "Ago" to be Honored
San Francisco, 24 January 2008 – Italian legend Giacomo Agostini will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Legend of the Motorcycle Concours.

Agostini, known to millions of fans worldwide as “Ago”, is the world’s greatest motorcycle grand prix racer with 15 Grand Prix World Championship titles. While fellow Italian and World Champion racer Valentino Rossi is close on his heels in terms of career titles, no one has yet to match Ago’s incredible record on the track.

For those interested in going to the event, it would be great to setup an mvagusta.net meet & ride on Saturday, May 3rd.

MVAgusta.net will be going through upgrades
Hello and Happy New Years from MVAgusta.net!

We're undergoing some big changes on this site. Many of which have taken place. You can read the up-to-the-change list in the MVAgusta.net forum announcements.

A call for help to improve the gallery: I spent many hours coding the gallery system now in place from scratch. It features an extensive tagging system which will assist you in finding photos of your favorite MV model and more. In order to get this system under way, I have implemented a photo tagging system where everyone can participate.

There are over 20,000 photos awaiting review. I have setup a system where you can help tag photos. There will soon be a "ranking" system to show who has tagged the most photos in the gallery :) with prizes going to the top ranked individuals!

Start tagging photos here! >

Thanks!

Ben Hong featured with his MV Agusta F4 1000 Senna in the LA Times!
Our very own Ben Hong (Odonata) has been featured on his MV in the LA Times highlighting his mix as a classical cellist for the Los Angeles Philharmonic and as a motorcyclist.

"Ben Hong has earned some minor fame as the cellist who commutes by motorcycle — a limited-edition MV Agusta F4-1000."

You can read the full article at the Los Angeles Times CalendarLive section.

You can also view the photo of Ben with his beautiful Senna (and MVAgusta.net sticker!) in the MVAgusta.net Gallery.

Interested in an MVAgusta.net Calendar?
MVAgusta.net is weighing interest in a calendar for 2008. Every month will feature a photo selected from our very own gallery.

The discussion about the calendar can be seen here >.

I am currently trying to figure out how many people are interested in purchasing a calendar. I am also taking in suggestions for photos to be used. Please chime in! Everything purchased from MVAgusta.net (shirts, calendars, stickers, etc) help support this site and keep it going.

Thanks!
