Well, one of my mates was recently at a ducati shop where I have had my 750ss serviced and told him I bought a 312 and his reply was "when he gets sick of riding a girls bike, come and see him about a man's bike!" What the $#%@ ! I would expect this sort of talk from a harley dealer, but surely not a fellow italian dealer? What a load of crap I thought, and it annoys me that a number of ducati dealers can not appreciate anything other than what they sell. I am sure that they are all not like that, at least I hope not as I have had 3 ducati's and still own 1, but did not expect this sort of banter. I had the choice of either the new ducati's or the mv, and went the mv, no regrets at all. It is a stunning bike, as we know, and it reminds me of the days (back in 94) when I had a cagiva mito and
everyone had questions and never did I turn up anywhere and find another...I love ducati's and each to their own, in fact a 1098 would be nice alongside my mv, however it would only ever get a second look as looks wise it has nothing on the 312 (in my opinion). Sure the duke's sound mean at idle and free reving, but true to all the magazine articles nothing sounds as good as an mv on the gas, and I am just discovering this as I roll on the km's on my new bike. I have also looked thru my extensive magazine library and found quite a few articles on the 1000f4s/r/312, and all is good. Also found the 2007 masterbike test that the mv won. Perhaps ducati is just sad that their 1098s went 273Km'h (measured/masterbike) against mv's 308km'h (measured/masterbike), thats 35km'h...ha ha Anyway thats my rave for a sunday arvo, and a high note to finish on.... Cheers

Yep, one day I will own a 916 as I love the look of them dearly and not so much the different stickering of the 996 etc, just have to be in a financial position to be able to afford to run and maintain it ! Very $$$$$
And if there is a mechanical problem ohh the heartache...(know a few guys with them). But god dam I want one....one day ![]()

Haha...err yeah it does look a little sad next to the mv, that is when I can be bothered casting an eye in that direction...prob is I have allways liked the ss models of this vintage for their simplicity, but shit I have not even been tempted to ride it since the mv came in to my life....say no more...

This kind of "bull shit" talk between Italian brands sales staff is typical!
Typical for Ferrari versus Lamborghini. Also Bimota versus Aprilia. And Alfa Romeo versus Lancia. The sales staff need professional etic training! I know because i own other Italian toys.. |

Yeah, not slagging off all ducati dealers
but I did not cop any of this when I was at the mv dealer and telling them I was also considering a duke...But hey, an mv speaks for its self, right....no need for any bull $%#@...! And like the mv guy said 'take an mv for a ride and then make your decision'...and the decision was made....easily.
